Global sustainability challenges – including climate change, natural resource depletion, and rising inequality – are affecting the commercial environment in a way that presents both risks and opportunities for the financial sector. The "Advanced Programme on Sustainable Finance” gives you the tools needed to address and take advantage of these changes. The course topics including ESG, are perfect for investment professionals, management consultants, and financial analysts of all types, as sustainable finance is increasingly important to help finance professionals understand how a company manages risks and opportunities created by market and non-market shifts.

The 5 modules can be completed as a package or you can register for each module separately and select the topics that are most relevant to your professional domain. 

Persons wishing to take modules 2, 3, 4 and 5 are strongly advised to have completed at least one of the following training courses: E-Learning "Introduction to Sustainable Finance" or module 1 of this programme.

Target group

The training course can be followed by various target groups which are active within a financial institution:

Required prior knowledge

Advanced level training: this training requires a general basic knowledge of the subject.

Prior knowledge required: These modules are at advanced level which means that this programme offers practical applications to the already acquired theoretical knowledge of the "basic level" courses (deepening). To experience the most impact of this programme, it is best that you have acquired a certain basic knowledge/notion of sustainable finance during your career.

This training gives you a complete overview through 5 modules.

Module 1 Part 1 - Foundations of Sustainable Finance : Basics of global sustainability and climate change (duration 6 hours of training)

  • Global sustainability goals (17 UN SDGs),

Part 2 - Foundations of Sustainable Finance : Sustainable finance (SF) in the European Union (duration 6 hours of training)

Module 2 ESG Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance (duration 6 hours of training)

  • ESG data, scores & research providers
  • Short Term sustainability lending, criteria, and incentives

The modules can be completed as a package or individually. Module 1 is composed of two submodules, respectively part 1 and part 2, but is considered as one single module.

Methodology

You follow a 'Classroom training' in a group. You are present with the other participants and the teacher at an agreed time in the same classroom. There is opportunity for interaction and feedback, both from the participants to the teacher and vice versa. The teaching material consists of a presentation via the MyFA learning platform, supplemented with various materials such as (digital syllabus, presentation, audiovisual fragments, ...).
