A training with impact
This E-learning course provides a practical refresher on the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) and is not intended as a general introduction or an in-depth legal course. It explains how to recognise IDD risks in day-to-day practice, which actions are appropriate and when escalation is required. It also covers principles from the Belgian MiFID framework, including correct information provision, the duty of care, the management of conflicts of interest and acting in the client’s best interests. The emphasis is on applying these principles in practice within the IDD framework.
The objectives of this training are:
- recognise when IDD applies within insurance distribution;
- correctly apply the duty of care, information requirements and demands-and-needs assessment;
- distinguish between advice, a recommendation and distribution without advice;
- identify IDD risks relating to insurance-based investment products, conflicts of interest, remuneration and inducements;
- assess when additional checks, documentation or escalation are required.
This training is for
This training is intended for employees in the financial and insurance sector who are already familiar with IDD and whose day-to-day role involves the development, distribution, sale or follow-up of insurance products, including:
- insurance agents, insurance intermediaries, relationship managers, customer advisers and commercial staff who inform, advise or assist clients in relation to insurance products;
- product, back-office, compliance and control staff who must apply, monitor or support IDD obligations and know when additional checks, documentation or escalation are required.
