Objective

An education with impact

Following the general introduction to the reform of the Belgian Criminal Code, this training focuses on its implications for companies, financial institutions and their stakeholders. The reformed Code builds upon significant legislative and judicial developments that have progressively shaped the criminal liability of companies and their members. Its implementation in April 2026 offers a timely opportunity to revisit and clarify the contours of this evolving area of law. These evolutions reflect the growing interaction between criminal law and corporate governance, requiring organisations to rethink their internal controls, risk management and ethical frameworks.

The session aims to provide both a theoretical and practical overview of the reformed Criminal Code as it applies to companies and their corporate actors.

The objectives of this training are to:

  • understand the regime of criminal liability for legal entities and analyze the shared and individual responsibilities within corporate structures;
  • identify the types of penalties and sanctions applicable;
  • examine the key offences relevant to the corporate world.
