This training provides a comprehensive overview of sustainability-related challenges, from climate change and biodiversity loss to geopolitical uncertainty, broadly covered under “ESG” (Environmental, Social, and Governance) concepts, and their growing relevance for the financial sector. The session also covers the challenges of balancing profit and purpose, the difference between impact and resilience goals, the management of ESG-related risks, the implementation of transition and impact goals into strategy and risk appetite, and the role of double materiality in decision-making. Key trends in regulatory frameworks, such as CSRD and SFDR, will be discussed, alongside climate commitments from the financial industry, including the SBTI.
