Target group

The advanced training is primarily intended for persons

  • who perform a regulated function, in particular;
    • those who are exempted from the examinations by their diploma;
    • those who have obtained a knowledge certificate:
      • before 2021, in order to acquire with this refresher course the knowledge as required by the IDD (module 1.2);
      • since 2021, to refresh and deepen the acquired knowledge through this refresher course;
  • who exercise a function other than insurance distribution and wish to become acquainted with the insurance business, without having to take any exams.

(Professional knowledge required by Articles 13 to 16 of the Royal Decree of 18 June 2019).

Required prior knowledge

Advanced level training: this training requires a general basic knowledge of the subject. 

Programme

This training is composed of E-learning (distance learning) and a traditional classroom training. You must complete the distance learning course, in the form of a syllabus (pdf), before attending the classroom session. The classroom session focuses on practical exercises and lectures illustrated with concrete examples through a presentation.

  • Information obligation and rules of conduct (Part 6, Chapter 5 of the Insurance Act of 4 April 2014)
  • Professional ethics
  • Book VI of the Code of Economic Law - Market practices and consumer protection
  • The law on the prevention of money laundering and financing of terrorism and on the limitation of the use of cash
  • The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

  • Duration: E-learning (15 hours) + 1 day training (6 hours training)
  • Hours classroom training : 09:00 to 17:00
  • Location: Febelfin Academy, Phoenix building - Koning Albert II-laan 19 1210 Brussels
  • Number of pages syllabus : +- 102 pages
  • Preparation: Participants are invited to study the textbook on the topics covered in the course in order to better follow the classroom training. The study of the manual (syllabus) is necessary to pass the online test. The interactive session is designed to support the knowledge acquired in the E-learning.
  • CPD hours: Each module includes an online test consisting of multiple-choice questions. CPD hours will only be granted if you pass the test. You are entitled to 2 attempts to pass the test. If you do not pass (result lower than 60%), CPD hours will not be granted for this (sub)module. We therefore recommend that you take the test only when you are sure you master the subject matter. 

Methodology

You follow a ‘Classroom training’ in a group. You, the other participants and the teacher are all present in the same classroom at an agreed time. There is an opportunity for interaction and feedback, both from the participants to the teacher and vice versa. The teaching material consists as a basis of a presentation via the MyFA learning platform, supplemented with various other items (such as digital syllabus, presentation, audiovisual fragments, etc.).



Type of training: Hybrid 

During our hybrid trainings, we combine self-study (E-learning) with an interactive session  (classroom training or live webinar). During the interactive session, the focus is on practising the material and working with real-life cases.
